841006979 - E3060 SUN ROOF DESCRIPTION (Passive Entry )

Description

The sun-roof provides a means of extra passenger compartment ventilation and ensures swift air exchange when necessary for improved passenger comfort. The system is operated by a knob located near the front courtesy light.The roof operating strategy is controlled by a special control unit that receives signals from the control knob. The control unit also contains the roof operating motor.When the knob is turned in the arrowed direction, the roof slides open: a choice of 6 opening positions is available. Return the knob to the central position to close the roof.The sun-roof is equipped with an underlying blind that slides manually but is pushed along by the roof when it opens. The blind emerges slightly when the roof is closed to provide access to the manoeuvring handle.When the control handle is turned the opposite way to the arrowed direction, the roof swivels up at the rear: a choice of 3 opening positions is available. Return the knob to the central position to close the roof.Press the knob to interrupt all movement (inhibition position).The electronic roof control circuit also includes an antipinch function: if an obstacle gets in the way when the roof is closing, the direction of motion is interrupted and reversed. This function may, however, be excluded for safety reasons by pressing the knob.The circuit is protected by a fuse in the boot compartment function unit.The roof is closed automatically - by means of a signal transmitted by the Body Computer - when the climate control unit is in recirculation mode;    See E6020 AIR CONDITIONINGUnder key-off conditions (STOP), the roof is automatically closed - if left open - when the doors are locked by holding the handle or boot key pressed down for at least 2 seconds: at this point the roof begins to move and motion continues for as long as the handle is depressed. The function is activated only if the person is in possession of a CID.he device is excluded temporarily during start-up (INT/A).or if a signal is received from the rain and dusk sensor.    See E3020 WINDSCREEN WASH/WIPEAfter the battery has been disconnected or a fuse has blown, the system must be initialized again proceeding as follows:

  • rotate the selector fully as far as it will go in an anti-clockwise direction to the maximum position;
  • keep the selector pressed until the roof reaches the maximum tilt position, having moved in stages;
  • release the selector after the roof has been stopped for at least two seconds;
  • press the selector again and keep it pressed within five seconds;
  • within another five seconds the roof will start to move, completing a complete opening and closing cycle, stopping in the roof closed position;
  • release the selector after the roof has been stopped for at least two seconds.
The system is initialized in this way and will start working normally again.
