The handbrke remains locked on; The fault is usually signalled by the handbrake warning light;
If the system is working manually, if a change of state (off/on) is requested through the button, the system signals any fault (impossibility of changing state) through a buzzer.
STEPOPERATIONS TO BE CARRIED OUTTEST RESULTS
1CHECK USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENTALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Connect the Examiner diagnostic equipment to the diagnostic connector and check the following at the CAN:

  • no control unit not activated;
  • that there are no faulty control units;
  • no control unit with faulty CAN line;

Check the operation of the handbrake switch [see test 3380AB] and the continuity/insulation of the connections between the switch and the Parking Brake Node (N.P.B.) (Wiring Diagram ) E7025 ELECTRIC HANDBRAKE Move on to Step 1. Switch faulty1. Replace the switch
