841003375 - E2020 DIRECTION INDICATORS/HAZARD WARNING LIGHTS DESCRIPTION
Description
The left and right direction indicators are switched on by raising or lowering the special lever on the left of the steering column switch unit; the function is activated with the key-on.The hazard warning lights (left and right direction indicators operated simultaneously) are activated via a button in the centre of the dashboard and all the direction indicators are activated at the same time. The switching on of the direction indicators/hazard warning lights is managed by the Body Computer which also controls the flashing frequency and sends it via the CAN serial network to the other nodes. The instrument panel receives the command to switch on the two direction indicator warning lgihts via the CAN: which, together with the flashing of the warning lights, also provides a low frequency acoustic signal. The correct operation of the lights is controlled by the direction indicators check function and the following is controlled for each of the two circuits (right and left branches of the vehicle):
open circuit or bulb missing for charges of 21 W (right front, right rear, left front, left rear)
short-circuit to earth (bulb s.c. or wiring s.c. to earth)
short circuit to VB (wiring short circuited to Vbatt).
When one of the situations described above is ascertained, the Body Computer makes the failure status available to the CAN: this information is displayed on the instrument panel. There is also a failure signal for one of the 21 W front or rear bulbs with an increase in the nominal flashing of the warning lights in the instrument panel and the buzzer. The flashing frequency of the exterior lights remains unchanged. The direction indicators are also lit up to signal the reception of the door locking/unlocking command from the remote control (or CID transponder). See E3040 CENTRAL LOCKING See E7015 ALARMAn LED at the back of the control button also comes on synchronized with the flashing of the exterior lights; this function is always activated.
