841006709 - E2510 COURTESY LIGHTS DESCRIPTION

Description

The logics for switching the (front and rear) courtesy lights on/off are centralized in the Body Computer.If some of the courtesy lights are not operated directly by the Body Computer but by other nodes, the command to switch on/off is sent via the CAN from the Body Computer to the latter via a signal composed of two bit in order to differentiate between switching on and switching off with or without a dimmer.The dimmer time of 2 seconds is always aded to the times described, for both switching on and switching off.The (unstable) button the front courtesy light acts for both the front courtesy light and the rear courtesy light: in effect, if the courtesy lights are off, they are lit up when the button is pressed;if the courtesy lights are on, they are switched off when the button is pressed;The left/right front map reading lights, like the rear ones, are activated independently of the opening of the doors, via a specific command; the functions are completely local.The timed activatation of the front and rear courtesy lights is basically determined by four different operating logics:

  • the front/rear door states (open/closed);
  • in a key-off situation (OFF);
  • according to the locking/unlocking of the doors via the remote control;
  • the activation of the inertia switch.
For the first functional logic, opening any door (front or rear) causes the front and rear courtesy lights to come on, both for a timed period (managed by the Body Computer) of 3 minutes.If during the period of 3 minutes (or with any door open) another door is opened, the current timed period is rest and starts again for another 3 minutes.At the end of the timed period both courtesy lights should go off.If, during the timed period of 3 minutes, all the doors are closed again, the timing of 3 minutes is interrupted and a second timed period of 20 seconds is activated which is interrupted if the ignition key is turned to the key-on position (INT).In all the cases described, the courtesy lights should come on and go out simultaneously and with a dimmer effect.In the second logic, when the key is extracted from the ignition (key-off) a timed period of 20 seconds is activated leading to a dimmed switching off.If the (unstable) button in the front courtesy light is pressed in the key-off (OFF) condition, a timed period of 15 minutes is activated.The front and rear courtesy lights respectively are activated in the door locking/unlocking function using the remote control: in the unlocking stage for 20 seconds; in the locking stage, on the other hand, for 1 second. In both cases the courtesy lights go out gradually.Lastly, if the inertia switch is activated the front and rear courtesy lights come on for 30 minutes. If the inertia switch is reset, the courtesy lights should go off.
