841006718 - E2510 COURTESY LIGHTS OPERATIONAL DESCRIPTION

Operational Description

The Body Computer M001 receives 4 different negative door open input signals at pin 8 (driver''s front door) and pin 16 (left rear door) for connector F and at pin 25 (front passenger door) and pin 26 (right rear door) of connector G.According to the timing logic described previously, the Body Computer controls:

  • the rear courtesy light G020 directly (+30 battery supply via fuse F32 of the junction unit under the dashboard B002) via a series of earth signals, used for timing the lights, from pins 21, 30 and 37 of connector G, valid for the centre courtesy light and the left and right map reading lights, respectively (the activation command for one light or the other is determined by the type of analogue signal reaching pin 28 of this connector);
  • indirectly via the B-CAN for the front courtesy light inside the roof control unit M062 at pins 7 and 16.
The rear courtesy light G020 also receives an earth signal at pin 7 from the roof control unit M062 (pin 15) used for the night panel function for the vehicle interior lighting. The gradual lighting (dimmer) of the controls on the rear courtesy light (pin 6) is managed by the luggage compartment control unit M063 (pin 14 connector E).The latter also manages the switching signal from the inertia switch I050 via pin 33 of connector F; the Body Computer is notified of this condition via the B-CAN (pins 30 and 40 of connector F).On receiving a door locking/unlocking signal via the alarm and central locking aerial P093 (pins 21 and 31 of connector B), the Body Computer M001 activates the different timed periods for the (front and rear) courtesy lights according to the condition activated.
