841006799 - E3040 CENTRAL LOCKING DESCRIPTION (Passive Entry )
Description
The Passive Entry system allows access to the vehicle passenger compartment passively without having to use any control components (key, remote control, etc.) for locking and unlocking the doors.The unlocking action is carried out automatically when the exterior handle is pulled once the CID (Customer Identification Device) Passive Entry control unit has been recognised.The CID contains a passive entry electronic management circuit and a mechanical key. The key is no longer retractable but simply extractable because it is used only in case of emergencies.Once the Passive Entry control unit recognizes the CID, the doors are not unlocked, this only happens the moment the handle of the door is operated allowing access to the passenger compartment.This stategy is displayed on the door in as far the LED in the panel stops the deterrent flashing to signal that access to the passenger compartment is possible, whilst the direction indicators signal the unlocking of the doors.The vehicle central locking action is activated by pressing any of the handles from the outside.The Passive Entry system has an auto-close function which allows the automatic locking of the locks after moving away from the vehicle. This function can be activated/deactivated on request through the menu in the instrument panel of the info-telematic control unit display.The dead-lock function is engaged the moment the doors are locked by pressing the handle a second time within 1 second of pressing it the first time.The command actions available at the door locks take place by:
the presence of the CID
pressing one of the vehicle''s outside handles
turning the mechanical key in one of the knobs.
The operation of the locks is managed by the body computer which controls:
the effective status of the doors through the signals that arrive from the switches in the locks (signals which are also used for the timed delay of the lights): in this way the locking command is only carried out with all the doors properly shut and the locks released; conversely, the unlocking command is only carried out with the locks locked;
the position of the switches. Since the central locking can control the individual locks separately, the repulsion function is not carried out. The lock realignment strategies for the individual doors is therefore not implemented. The lock is locked with the door open.
the number of consecutive locking/unlocking manoeuvres. If 10-11 opening/closing manoeuvres are carried out within a period of 25 seconds, the system is inhibited for 30 seconds.
the reception of locking/unlocking signals inhibiting the system for 0.5 seconds for access to the vehicle, thereby preventing any overlapping of commands from the outside with the exception of the "double pressing" to activate the dead-lock.
through setting the locking/unlocking strategy in the info-telematic control unit for all the doors or for the passenger door only or the boot only.
With the ignition switched on the signals coming from the door (and boot) open switches display the message on the instrument panel display and there is an acoustic signal.The receiver aerial for recognizing the CID is connected directly to the Passive Entry control unit which implements the following strategy:
