) - Position the vehicle on a lift.

Before proceed with the operation of removing the solenoid unit, position the gear lever in "N"

- Open the boot, remove the cover on the left hand side and disconnect the negative battery lead. See in Op. 7040D50 ENGINE COMPARTMENT UPPER SOUND INSULATION SHIELD - R.R. See in Op. 1016A40 Ignition COIL COVER on cylinder head - R.R. See in Op. 1048A21 AIR INLET HOSE FROM INTAKE TO FILTER - R.R. See in Op. 1048A23 Cold AIR INTAKE for air filter - R.R. See in Op. 1048A28 vacuum air circuit resonator pipe - r+r See in Op. 1048A10 COMPLETE AIR FILTER -R.R.1. Release the retainers (1a) and disconnect the gearbox bowden cable (1b).

1. Open the bands (1a) and release the wiring (1b) on the gearbox bowden cable mounting bracket, then disconnect the electrical connection for the gear selector (1c).

1. Undo the nut (1a) fixing the gear selector lever (1b) and remove it.

1. Fold back the safety washer retaining tabs using a screwdriver2. Undo the nut fixing the gear selector to the selector pin.3. Undo the two bolts fixing the selector to the gearbox casing and remove it.

Refitting ( Removing

) - Position the gear selector and partly tighten the fixing bolts.1. Check the alignment of the sides of the gear selector pin (1a) with the references (1b) on the outermost part of the selector.

If they are not aligned, turn the pin until the positioning is correct.

1. Position the safety washer (1a) and tighten the nut (1b) fixing the gear selector (1c) to the selector pin to the recommended torque.

1. Tighten the bolts (1a) and (1b) fixing the gear selector to the recommended torque.

- Fold over the safety washer tabs- Position the gear selector lever and tighten the fixing nut keeping the gear selector pin in place.- Connect the electrical connection for the gear selector and close the retaining band.- Connect the gearbox bowden cable. See in Op. 7040D50 ENGINE COMPARTMENT UPPER SOUND INSULATION SHIELD - R.R.- Connect the negative battery terminal and reposition the cover on the left hand side of the luggage compartment.
