167794 - K69 HANDBRAKE FAILURE WARNING LIGHT ON

The parking brake failure signal is sent from the electric Parking Brake Node (NPB) directly to the Instrument Panel Node. The Instrument Panel Node turns on a dedicated warning light and displays a parking brake fault message. The relevant message is displayed if the warning light is faulty.

Remove the instrument panel and check continity/insulation of the wiring between the Parking Brake Node and the Instrument Panel Node (Wiring Diagram ) E4010 INSTRUMENT PANEL Move on to Step wiring not insulated or interruptedRestore the electrical connection (Wiring Diagram ) E4010 INSTRUMENT PANEL
4CHECK USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT ALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Keeping the Examiner diagnostic equipment connected to the diagnostic connector, check the following at the Parking Brake node: In active diagnosis environment

  • operation of the parking brake fault warning light

5CHECK ON CORRECT OPERATION ALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION

  • Check that the fault is no longer present
