72559 - K03 SPEEDOMETER NOT WORKING

While driving, the speedometer does not work or works irregularly;
the speed signal is supplied by the "brake node" and made available to the "instrument panel node" via the "body computer node" Gateway. Remember that if the C-CAN network is faulty, the signal is made available on the B-CAN network from the Body Computer node via recovery line between brake node and body computer node known as VSO

Check the following with the engine running:

  • no fault message is displayed
Move on to Step Faults foundMove on to Step
1CHECK USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENTALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Connect the Examiner diagnostic equipment to the diagnostic connector and check the following at the CAN:

  • no control unit not activated;
  • that there are no faulty control units;
  • no control unit with faulty CAN line;
Move on to Step 1. Faults on CAN network1. Continue following the instructions for the diagnostic equpiment
2. Errors on instrument panel nodeMove on to Step
2CHECK USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENTALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Keeping the Examiner diagnostic equipment connected to the diagnostic connector, check the following at the instrument panel node:in error environment

  • that there are no faults
Move on to Step Presence of errors Continue following the instructions for the diagnostic equpiment

Keeping the Examiner connected, check the following on the instrument panel node:In active diagnosis environment

  • operation of speed indicator

4CHECK ON CORRECT OPERATIONALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Check that the fault is no longer present
