72565 - K06 TRIP METER DOES NOT ZERO

With the ignition on the trip meter is not zeroed when the 0 km button is pressed;
the km zeroing button is directly connected to the instrument panel node and has two functions:

  • the km zeroing button is directly connected to the instrument panel node and has two functions:
  • 1. "km zeroing" function when pressed for a long time (more than 3 secs)
  • 2. "escape" function when pressed for a short time (less than 3 secs)
STEPOPERATIONS TO BE CARRIED OUTTEST RESULTS
0PRELIMINARY CHECKALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Check that with thei ignition key on:

  • with the door open (door open display on matrix) when the button is pressed for less than 3 seconds the "escape" function is activated
  • with the lights on the ideogram on the button is lit up
Move on to Step 1. the function is not activated and the LED is not lit upMove on to Step
2. the escape function is not activated and the LED is lit upMove on to Step
1KM ZEROING BUTTON CHECKALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Remove the km zeroing button and check that it is working properly (Wiring Diagram ) E4010 INSTRUMENT PANEL Move on to Step Zeroing button defectiveReplace the km zeroing button    See in Op. 5560B15 Milometer zeroing CONTROL - R.R.
2CHECK ELECTRICAL CIRCUITALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Remove the instrument panel [PR. 5560B11] and check:

  • the connection between the km zeroing button and the instrument panel
  • the connection between the km zeroing button and the instrument panel
Move on to Step Connections and/or earth faultyRestore the connections and, if necessary, replace the wiring (Wiring Diagram ) E4010 INSTRUMENT PANEL
3CHECK ON CORRECT OPERATIONALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
