841004113 - E3040 CENTRAL LOCKING DESCRIPTION

Description

The simultaneous operation of the door locks takes place via:

  • the key;
  • the door switches (knobs);
  • the buttons on the driver''s door;
  • the remote control.
The operation of the locks is managed by the body computer which controls:

  • the effective status of the doors through the signals that arrive from the switches in the locks (signals which are also used for the timed delay of the lights): in this way the locking command is only carried out with all the doors properly shut and the locks released; conversely, the unlocking command is only carried out with the locks locked;
  • the position of the switches. Since the central locking can control the individual locks separately, the repulsion function is not carried out. The lock realignment strategies for the individual doors is therefore not implemented. The lock is locked with the door open.
  • the number of consecutive locking/unlocking manoeuvres. If 10-11 opening/closing manoeuvres are carried out within a period of 25 seconds, the system is inhibited for 30 seconds.
  • - the reception of locking/unlocking signals inhibiting the system for 0.5 seconds for access to the vehicle, thereby preventing any overlapping of commands from the outside with the exception of the "double pressing" to activate the dead-lock.
  • through setting the locking/unlocking strategy in the info-telematic control unit for all the doors or for the passenger door only or the boot only.
The dead-lock function is automatically engaged via the mechanical key the moment the doors are locked by turning the key a second time within a second of the locking manoeuvre through both pawls in the front doors.With the ignition switched on the signals coming from the door (and boot) open switches display the message on the instrument panel display and there is an acoustic signal.The remote control receiver aerial is connected directly to the body computer which contains the actual electronics for the receiver. The remote control located in the key has three separate buttons: one for locking, one for unlocking and one for releasing the boot.The body computer implements the following strategies:    See E3050 ELECTRIC FRONT WINDOWS    See E3051 ELECTRIC REAR WINDOWS    See E3060 SUN ROOFOr using the remote control by pressing the locking button a second time within a second of pressing it the first time. The function is signalled by a red coloured LED in the driver''s door.and, if necessary, engaging the dead-lock function.
