841008697 - E8010 MULTIPLE DIAGNOSTIC CONNECTOR OPERATIONAL DESCRIPTION (Automatic Transmission )

Operational Description

The centralised EOBD tester input is built into Body Computer M001, connector I. It is supplied directly by the battery at pin 16, via a line protected by fuse F039 of underfacia junction unit B002. Pins 4 and 5 are earthed. The pins of diagnostic connector I of Body Computer M001 are internally connected to the pins present in the other control unit connectors that interface on different areas of the car (facia, front, rear etc.).Each performs a specific function:

  • pin 1: tests braking system control unit M051 by means of a signal from pin 16 connector A of Body Computer M001, externally connected to pin 6 of brake system control unit M051.
  • pin 3: tests air bag control unit M060 by means of a signal from pin 12 connector D of Body Computer M001, externally connected to pin 19 of connector A of air bag control unit M060.
  • pin 7: tests engine control unit by means of a signal from pin 20 connector A of Body Computer M001, externally connected to pin 53 of connector A of engine control unit M010.
  • pin 9 :tests the control units in the facia area, i.e. headlamp alignment correct control unit M073 and servotronik control unit M088. A self-diagnostic signal reaches headlamp alignment corrector control unit M073 (pin 5) and servotronik control unit M088 (pin 4) via pin 11 connector D of Body Computer M001, externally connected, via short-circuiting junction D097 C.
  • pin 12 :tests control units in the front area, i.e. the brake sytem check control unit M052, adaptive cruise control unit M087 and supplementary heater control unit M075. A self-diagnostic signal reaches brake system check control unit M052 (pin 5), adaptive cruise control control unit M087 (pin 11) and supplementary heater control unit M075 (pin 2) via pin 35 connector B of Body Computer M001, externally connected, via short-circuiting junction D097 C.
  • pin 13 :tests the control units in the rear area, i.e. electric brake control unit M059 and controlled suspension control unit M046. A self-diagnostic signal reaches electric brake control unit M059 (pin 3) and controlled suspension control unit M046 (pin 8) via pin 18 connetor F of Body Computer M001, externally welded.
  • pin 6: used to test CAN B line B.
  • pin 14: used to test B CAN line A.
