939003701 - L015 CLIMATE CONTROL NOT HEATING

The climate control is working properly and sends air according to the preset flows but this air does not guarantee the required heating.
0PRELIMINARY CHECKALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Disconnect the battery and reconnect it at the Key Off and wait 2 minutes for the Key On checking whether there is a variation in the temperature requested.End of diagnosisThere is no variation in the temperature requested.Move on to Step 1
1REFRIGERANT FLUID LEVEL CHECKALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Check that the engine coolant level is within the preset levels and that the refrigerant fluid circulates correctly in the system.Move on to Step 21.Engine coolant level too low.1.Restore the correct level checking that there are no leaks.    Op. 0010T84 COOLANT FOR AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM - DEHYDRATE AND REPRESSURIZE
2.Refrigerant fluidt does not circulate correctly: thermostat valve operationg incorrectly.2.Follow the    See table K025 ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE GAUGE NOT WORKING
2CHECK ON CORRECT CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATIONALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
With the engine on and the compressor off, in manual mode with the temperature knob at the maximum hot HI position. Also set the recirculation button to the closed position and set the fan speed to 6 bars (display) and the distribution to front ventilation.Use the diagnostic tester to check that the engine temperature reaches at least 70 °C.Check that the air temperature at the front distribution outlet is greater than 60 °C.End of diagnosisThe temperature of the air coming out of the vents is not as desired.Move on to Step 3
2CHECK ON CORRECT CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATIONALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
With the engine on and the compressor off, in manual mode with the temperature knob at the maximum hot HI position. Also set the recirculation button to the closed position and set the fan speed to the 3rd setting and the distribution to front ventilation.Use the diagnostic tester to check that the engine temperature reaches at least 70 °C.Check that the air temperature at the front distribution outlet is greater than 60 °C.End of diagnosisThe temperature of the air coming out of the vents is not as desired.Move on to Step 3
3CHECK USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENTALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Connect the diagnostic equipment and check:

  • that there are no errors at the air mixing actuators;
  • that there are no faults in the engine temperature sensor.
Move on to Step 41.Short circuit to earth at the actuators error.1.Move on to Step 5
2. Short circuit to +12V error at the actuators.2.Move on to Step 5
3. Mechanical interference / stuck error.3. Move on to Step 7
4. Error in the engine temperature sensor4. Continue as instructed by the diagnostic equipment
3CHECK USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENTALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Connect the diagnostic equipment and check:

  • that there are no errors at the air mixing actuator
Move on to Step 61. Short circuit to earth error at the actuator.1. Move on to Step 5
2. Short circuit to +12V error at the actuator.2. Move on to Step 5
3. Mechanical interference / stuck error.3. Move on to Step 7
4CHECKS USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENTALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Keeping the Examiner diagnostic equipment connected, check the correct operation of the air mixture actuator through active diagnosis.End of diagnosisAir mixture actuator not workingMove on to Step 5
5ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT CHECKALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Check whether the electrical wiring connections are loose:Disconnect and check for damage in the connector contacts/reconnect the connection to the actuator.Check the continuity/insulation of the electrical connection:

  • of the air mixing actuator/s.
  • the connection on the control unit.
Move on to Step 61.Electrical connections loose or damaged.1. Renew the electrical connections    See E6020 AIR CONDITIONING
2.Electrical connection broken or not insulated.2.Restore the continuity/insulation of the electrical connection    See E6020 AIR CONDITIONING
6CHECK ON CORRECT OPERATION OF MIXTURE ACTUATORALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Check whether the electrical wiring connections are loose.Disconnect and visually inspect for damage at the connector contacts and reconnect the connection to the motor mounting. If it persists, before replacing the actuator, check its operation by manually activating the function that the actuator should carry out. With the engine running, switch on the fan at maximum speed.Place the flaps in the various distribution positions via the control/control unit (manually).Check the air flow in the passenger compartment with your hand at the vents.End of diagnosis1. Electrical connections loose or damaged.1. Renew the electrical connections    See E6020 AIR CONDITIONING
2. There is no air flow intake into the passenger compartment through the vents.2. Move on to Step 7.
7CHECK FOR IMPEDIMENTS TO THE ROTATION OF THE MIXTURE ACTUATORSALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Remove the actuator and check using the control unit control that the actuator turns checking for mechanical impediments that prevent its rotation.End of diagnosis1.The air mixture actuator does not turn.1.Replace the air mixture actuator Op.
2.Kinematic components of flaps broken/stuck.2.Replace the component that is faulty.
