STEPCHECK TO BE PERFORMEDRESOLUTION IF THE CHECK IS NOT OK
1Press the START/STOP button and turn off the engine.Disconnect the cable loom connector from the flow modifying solenoid valve.Press the START/STOP button.Check that the voltage across pin 6 of the solenoid    See L064 FLOW MODIFYING SOLENOID VALVEand the earth is greater than 11 V.Move on to Step 4Move on to Step 2
2Press the START/STOP button.In the engine compartment junction unitremove fuse F11 (third from the right in the bottom row).Press the START/STOP button.Check the voltage between the inlet contact of fuse F11 and earth. Ensure it is greater than 11 V.Replace the junction unit    Op. 5505A13 ADDITIONAL JUNCTION UNIT IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT - R.R.
3If faults are found, restore the wiring between the junction unit and the solenoid    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT If necessary, replace the wiring. The test may be considered completeReplace the junction unit    Op. 5505A13 ADDITIONAL JUNCTION UNIT IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT - R.R.
4Check that the voltage across pin 6 and 2 of the solenoid    See L064 FLOW MODIFYING SOLENOID VALVEis greater than 11 V.Move on to Step 6Move on to Step 5
5If faults are found, restore the wiring between the engine control unit and the solenoid    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT Replace the wiring if necessaryThe test can be considered overReplace the engine management control unit    Op. 1060G80 DIESEL ELECTRONIC INJECTION CONTROL UNIT - .R
6Press the START/STOP button.Disconnect the wiring harness connector from engine control unit connector BPress the START/STOP button.Check that the voltage across pin 45 of the control unit    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU and the earth is greater than 0.3 V.Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine control unit and the solenoid    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
7Press the START/STOP button.Check that the voltage across pin 45 of the control unit    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU and the earth is more than 500 kOhm.Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine control unit and the solenoid    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
8Check that the voltage across pin 45 of the control unit    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU and pin 1 of the solenoid    See L064 FLOW MODIFYING SOLENOID VALVEis less than 5 OhmsRepair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine control unit and the solenoid    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
9Press the START/STOP button.Check that the voltage across pin 35 of the control unit    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU and the earth is greater than 0.3 V.Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine control unit and the solenoid    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
10Press the START/STOP button.Check that the voltage across pin 35 of the control unit    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU and the earth is more than 500 kOhm.Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine control unit and the solenoid    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
11Check that the voltage across pin 35 of the control unit    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU and pin 5 of the solenoid    See L064 FLOW MODIFYING SOLENOID VALVEis less than 5 OhmsRepair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine control unit and the solenoid    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
12Replace the flow bypass solenoidOp. 1060E20 and check the fault has disappearedRestore the original solenoid valve and replace the engine management control unit    Op. 1060G80 DIESEL ELECTRONIC INJECTION CONTROL UNIT - .R
