939010210 - 1060FA INJECTOR OPERATION CHECK

Proceed as follows on the injector presumed to be faulty.

STEP	CHECK TO BE PERFORMED	RESOLUTION IF THE CHECK IS NOT OK
1	Press the START/STOP button and turn off the engine. Disconnec the wiring harness connector from engine control unit connector B.Press the START/STOP pushbutton. Check that the voltage across Earth and: Pin 16 of the control unit for injector 1     See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Pin 2 of the control unit for injector 2     See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Pin 1 of the control unit for injector 3     See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Pin 17 of the control unit for injector 4     See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Pin 18 of the control unit for injector 5     See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU is less than 0.3 V	Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine control unit and the injector    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
2	Press the START/STOP button.Check that the resistance between Earth and: Pin 16 of the control unit for injector 1     See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Pin 2 of the control unit for injector 2     See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Pin 1 of the control unit for injector 3     See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Pin 17 of the control unit for injector 4     See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Pin 18 of the control unit for injector 5     See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU is greater than 500 kOhmsMove on to Step 6	Move on to Step 3
3	Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the injector.Check that the resistance between Earth and: Pin 16 of the control unit for injector 1     See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Pin 2 of the control unit for injector 2     See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Pin 1 of the control unit for injector 3     See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Pin 17 of the control unit for injector 4     See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Pin 18 of the control unit for injector 5     See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU is greater than 500 kOhms	Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine control unit and the injector    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
4	Check that the resistance between Earth and: Pin 47 of the control unit for injector 1     See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Pin 31 of the control unit for injector 2     See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Pin 46 of the control unit for injector 3     See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Pin 33 of the control unit for injector 4     See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Pin 48 of the control unit for injector 5     See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU is greater than 500 kOhms	Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine control unit and the injector    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
5	Replace the injectorThe test can be considered over
6	Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the injector.Check that the resistance across: Pin 16 and 47 of the control unit for injector 1     See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Pin 2 and 31 of the control unit for injector 2     See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Pin 1 and 46 of the control unit for injector 3     See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Pin 17 and 33 of the control unit for injector 4     See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Pin 18 and 48 of the control unit for injector 5     See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU is greater than 500 kOhms	Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring of the engine control unit    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
7	Check that the resistance across pin 1 of the injector    See N070 INJECTOR and: Pin 16 of the control unit for injector 1     See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Pin 2 of the control unit for injector 2     See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Pin 1 of the control unit for injector 3     See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Pin 17 of the control unit for injector 4     See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Pin 18 of the control unit for injector 5     See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU is less than 5 Ohms	Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine control unit and the injector    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
8	Check that the resistance across pin 2 of the injector    See N070 INJECTOR and: Pin 47 of the control unit for injector 1     See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Pin 31 of the control unit for injector 2     See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Pin 46 of the control unit for injector 3     See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Pin 33 of the control unit for injector 4     See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Pin 48 of the control unit for injector 5     See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU is less than 5 Ohms	Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine control unit and the injector    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
9	Check that the resistance across pin 1 and 2 of the injector    See N070 INJECTOR is between 0.3 and 0.7 Ohms	Replace the injector
10	Carry out a visual check on the condition of the injector and connector pipes to ensure it is OK	Replace the faulty component
11	Replace the engine management control unit    Op. 1060G80 DIESEL ELECTRONIC INJECTION CONTROL UNIT - .R
