939010250 - 4410OA CHECKING CORRECT TIGHTENING OF FRONT SUSPENSION

Position the vehicle on a two column lift.
If the area where the noise is coming from has been identified, firstly check the fastenings in that area, otherwise follow the order indicated.
1. Using a torque wrench calibrated to the recommended value, check that the fixing nuts fixing the shock absorber stem to the mounting (1a) and fixing the shock absorber mounting to the bodyshell (1b) are tightened to the torque given below.

2. Raise the vehicle and check that the various front suspension fastenings are correctly tightened.Using a torque wrench calibrated to the recommended value, check that the fastenings between the shock absorber and the lower fork (2) are tightened to the torque given below.

3. Using a torque wrench calibrated to the recommended value, check that the front nuts fixing the anti-roll bar u-bolt to the engine chassis (3a) are tightened to the torque given below.

- Visually inspect that the rear bolts fixing the anti-roll bar u-bolt to the engine chassis (3b) have not loosened.

- Using a torque wrench calibrated to the recommended value, check that the fastening for the connecting rod upper end (3c) and the fastening for the connecting rod lower end (3d) are tightened to the torque indicated below.

4. Visually inspect that the bolts fixing the track control arm front bush (4a), the track control arm rear bush (4b) and the 3rd fastening securing the track control arm rear bush (4c) have not loosened.

- Visually inspect that the bolts fixing the shock absorber fork to the track control arm (4d) have not loosened.

5. Visually inspect that the bolts fixing the upper aluminium track control arm to the bodyshell (5a) have not loosened.

- Using a torque wrench calibrated to the recommended value, check that the fastening between the track control arm and the steering knuckle (5b) is tightened to the torque given below.

7. Visually inspect that the bolts fixing the steering box to the engine chassis (7) have not loosened.

- Using a torque wrench calibrated to the recommended value, check that the bolts fixing the vertical bracket to the bodyshell (8d) and the bolts fixing the vertical bracket to the engine chassis (8e) are tightened to the torque given below.

9. Using a torque wrench calibrated to the recommended value, check that the bolt fixing the brake caliper to the steering knuckle (9) is tightened to the torque given below.
