939010300 - 5570 SUBWOOFER OPERATION CHECK

STEPCHECK TO BE CONDUCTEDSOLUTION IF THE CHECK IS NOT OK
1Check power supply (+30)

  • Check for battery voltage across pin 5 of the subwoofer connector and earth

  • Check that the connector is correctly inserted in its other part

  • Try to move it from its seat by shifting it by small amounts in all directions, grasping the connector case in your fingers and the wiring in your hand. The connector should remain in its housing

  • Exercise moderate pulling force. The connector should remain in its housing

  • Check whether the power supply goes off, on and/or viceversa (touching/not touching)

  • Subject the cable to pulling force and check cable stability (lack of shrinkage): apply repeated pull-push-pull cycles to the cable and check it remains immobile.
Crimping examination:Use a lens to examine the crimped area of the terminal. The barrels should be turned symmetrically and three-stranded sections should not emerge from the crimped area. The bare cable section beneath the barrel should emerge by 0.5
-If blown, replace fuse F61 in the boot compartment control unit after identifying the causeRestore the wiring between the boot compartment control unit and the subwoofer
2Check the earthDisconnect the 5-way connector and connect an ohmmeter across pin 4 and earth to check the resistance is less than 1 ohmRestore earth connection
3Check the ignition signal

  • With the radio on, check for a 12 Volt signal at pin 3 of the subwoofer
Restore the connection across pin 3 of the subwoofer and pin 25 of the audio amplifier
4Check the continuity of the audio signal wiring

  • Check the continuity of the wiring between pin 2 of the subwoofer and pin 12 of the audio amplifier

  • Check the continuity of the wiring between pin 1 of the subwoofer and pin 11 of the audio amplifier

  • Check the insulation to earth of the wiring described under the previous points
Restore wiring continuityRestore the insulation
