939010216 - 1064BB CHECK ON OPERATION OF SUPERCHARGING PRESSURE SOLENOID VALVE (PIERBURG)

CHECK TO BE PERFORMEDRESOLUTION IF THE CHECK IS NOT OK
1Press the START/STOP button and turn off the engine.Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the turbine variable geometry solenoid.    See L036 TURBINE VARIABLE GEOMETRY CONTROL SOLENOID VALVEPress the START/STOP button.Measure the voltage between Pin 1 of the solenoid wiring side connector and Earth. Ensure it is greater than 11V.    See L036 TURBINE VARIABLE GEOMETRY CONTROL SOLENOID VALVEPress the START/STOP button.Move on to Step 4Move on to Step 2
2In the engine compartment junction unit, remove fuse F11 (third from the right in the lower row)    See B001 JUNCTION UNIT Press the START/STOP button.Check the voltage between the fuse inlet contact and earth. Ensure it is greater than 11 V.Replace the junction unit    Op. 5505A13 ADDITIONAL JUNCTION UNIT IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT - R.R.
3If fualts are present, repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine compartment junction unit and the solenoid.    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT The test can be considered overReplace the junction unit    Op. 5505A13 ADDITIONAL JUNCTION UNIT IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT - R.R.
4Disconnect the wiring harness connector from engine control unit connector B    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Press the START/STOP button.Measure the voltage between Pin 2 of the solenoid wiring side connector and Earth. Ensure it is less than 0.3 V.    See L036 TURBINE VARIABLE GEOMETRY CONTROL SOLENOID VALVERepair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine control unit and the solenoid    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
5Press the START/STOP button. Measure the voltage between Pin 2 of the solenoid wiring side connector and Earth. Ensure it is greater than 500 kOhm.    See L036 TURBINE VARIABLE GEOMETRY CONTROL SOLENOID VALVERepair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine control unit and the solenoid    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
6Measure the resistance between Pin 1 of the solenoid wiring side connector and Pin 7 of engine control unit wiring side connector. Ensure it is less than 5 Ohms.    See L036 TURBINE VARIABLE GEOMETRY CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine control unit and the solenoid    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
7Reconnect the wiring harness connector to the engine control unit    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU Connect a test bulb between pins 1 and 2 of the solenoid    See L036 TURBINE VARIABLE GEOMETRY CONTROL SOLENOID VALVEPress the START/STOP button.Carry out the following active diagnosis: Turbo regulator, check that the bulb comes on.Move on to Step 9Move on to Step 8
8Reconnect the wiring harness connector to the solenoid    See L036 TURBINE VARIABLE GEOMETRY CONTROL SOLENOID VALVEReplace the engine management control unit    Op. 1060G80 DIESEL ELECTRONIC INJECTION CONTROL UNIT - .R The test can be considered over
9Replace the solenoid valve    Op. 1064B42 SOLENOID CONTROLLING TURBOCHARGER VANE POSITION ACTUATOR - R.R
Visually inspect that during start-up, the turbocharger actuator connecting rod (turbine stator vanes adjustment device) moves by around 10 mm in the direction of the actuator. With the engine switched off, connect connector EX09 and transducer EX06 in the section of pipe between the actuator and the solenoid valve.Select intake pressure measuring gauge in instrument mode.Start up the engine and let it idle, then wait until pressure pressure stabilizes. The reading should not exceed 450-550 mmHg.The graphic acquisition of the pressure trend can be carried out by selecting either the 2000 or 4000 mmHg scale.
