Removing ( Refitting ) - Position the driveshaft in a vice fitted with protective jaws.1. Remove the bands securing the protective boot using a suitable tool.

2. Overturn the gaiter to uncover the tripod.
1. Use a suitable drift (1a) and mallet to disconnect the differential internal drive shaft (1b) from the drive shaft.
1. Remove the tripod retaining ring.2. Use a suitable drift (2a) and mallet to remove tripod (2b) from the front driveshaft.- Remove the front driveshaft gaiter.
Refitting ( Removing ) - Position the new protective boot on the driveshaft.- Press-fit the tripod in its seat on the front drive shaft.- Place a new tripod retaining ring in position.- Fill the joint and the boot with the specified grease.

- Use a appropriate drift to fit the differential internal drive shaft to the front drive shaft.- Place the gaiter back in its housing.- Fit two new bands securing the boot using a suitable tool.
