FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION

The ignition-operated power supply (INT) for the instrument panel E50 reaches pin 1 of connector A via the line for fuse F37 of the junction unit under the dashboard B2; the direct power supply reaches pin 2 of connector A via the fuse line F53 of the junction unit under the dashboard B2; pin 7 of connector A is earthed (earth controlled by the Body Computer M1).The instrument panel E50 is connected from pins 3 and 4 of connector A with the Body Computer M1 and via the latter to the entire CAN: the signal reaches the electronic speedometer (from the ABS control unit M50) via the CAN: the same signal is replicated by pin 16 of M50 at pin 7 of connector A of the Body Computer M1.The electronic rev counter receives the engine rpm signal received from the engine management control unit M10 via the CAN.The km reset button for the trip meter, located in the left panel H90, sends an earth signal to pin 7 of connector C of E50.The fuel level gauge is controlled by means of signals coming from the level gauge located in the fuel pump assembly N40 - at pins 4 and 15 of connector D of the Body Computer M1 and from there via the CAN to the instrument panel E50.The brake pad wear warning light is controlled on the basis of the signal that reaches pin 23 of connector B of the Body Computer M1 from the sensors for K20 and K21.The insufficient brake fluid level/handbrake warning light is lit up by a signal from the handbrake switch I40 that reaches pin 14 of connector D of the Body Computer M1 or from the signal from the brake fluid level sensor K25 that reaches pin 18 of connector A of M1.All these signals are transferred via the CAN to the instrument panel E50.The engine oil level sensor K32 receives a power supply from the panel E50 from pin 17 of connector B and relays the signal to pin 18.The centre module E20 is connected by means of a special serial line - from pin 1 - to the instrument panel node E50 pin 1 of connector C; the protected power supply reaches pin 3 of E20, whilst the reference earth reaches pin 2.The dimmed power supply for the auxiliary instruments E20 leaves from pin 5 of connector C of E50.    See E2535 CONTROL LIGHTS
