939005109 - INTRODUCTION - CRANKCASE VAPOUR/GAS RECIRCULATION SYSTEM
Vapour recirculation system (blow-by)
Function:to collect the oil vapours that develop in the crankcase and the cylinder head, preventing them from being dispersed outside the engine, partly condensating them and returning them to the sump.Specifications:The oulets for collecting the oil vaopurs are directly in the tappet covers where, by means of calibrated ports, the vapours are directed in two distinct pipes that take the vapours that are not condensed into the air intake manifold. In particular, the pipe coming from the left tappet cover is connected downstream of the throttle body, whilst the one coming from the right tappet cover is connected upstream of the throttle body. The vapours which, on the other hand, do condense on the heads, are drained directly into the sump.
