939011621 - E3050 FRONT ELECTRIC WINDOWS - DESCRIPTION (High setup)

DESCRIPTION

The electric windows for the front doors are operated through the switches on the driver''s door (both windows) and the passenger side (passenger side only). The control units in the door control the operation of the driver''s and passenger side electric window motors which are operated both manually and automatically depending on the version.Automatic operation takes place as follows:- if the button is pressed is between 60 and 300 milliseconds, operation is manual. the glass goes up/down only with the key pressed;- f the key is pressed for longer than 300 milliseconds, operation is automatic: even if the button is released, the glass continues to move up/down until the end of travel position is reached or until the intervention of the anti-crush safety system (if fitted);- pressing the button again whilst the window is moving stops it in the position it is in;- if the button is pressed for less than 60 milliseconds, this is ignored (it is treated as an accidental knock). Each control unit in the door also manages the anti-crush safety function: it acquires information concerning the possible presence of an obstacle whilst the glass is closing (upwards movement): a resistive sensor is inserted in an outer casing fitted to the upper seal which is compressed if there is an obstacle preventing the window from closing properly: under these circumstances the control unit immediately interrupts the travel of the glass and reverses it until it is in the bottom end of travel position. The correct operation of the anti-crush sensor is controlled by the control unit check function: in the case of a failure this information is sent via the CAN to the instrument panel to show the information on the display. In addition, if a fault is detected, the control unit inhibits the automatic raising operation only allowing it in steps of 500 ms each time the button is pressed. The windows are automatically opened or closed through the special prolonged (more than 2 seconds) command sent by the TEG remote control button. The circuit is controlled by the services relay and protected by two fuses located in the junction unit under the dashboard: there is a power supply both with the TEG inserted (ON) and not inserted (OFF); during the starting stage this relay is temporarily deactivated whilst with the TEG not inserted (OFF) the Body Computer keeps the relay activated for 3 minutes but deactivates it 30 seconds after one of the doors is opened. The driver''s door control unit acquires both the driver''s front door and passenger side front door commands; it manages the movement of the driver''s window directly and sends the relevant movement commands for the passenger side window via the CAN to the passenger door control unit which manages the passenger side window directly.
