939010911 - 5040A20 AIR CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR - R+R - INCLUDES FLUID LEVEL CHECK AND TOP UP IF NECESSARY

Removing ( Refitting )
Follow the safety instructions.    Op. 5040 AIR CONDITIONING CASING AND COMPONENTS
- Position the vehicle on a lift.- Drain the coolant.    Op. 0010T84 COOLANT FOR AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM - DEHYDRATE AND REPRESSURIZE     Op. 4450B04 RIGHT FRONT WHEEL - R.R     Op. 7055B91 RIGHT FRONT WHEEL ARCH LINER - R.R.     Op. 7055B66 ENGINE COMPARTMENT DUST COVER IN RIGHT FRONT WHEEL ARCH - R.R. 1. Apply wrench (1a) to the service belt tensioner grip (1b).2. Turn wrench (1a) in the arrowed direction (2a) and loosen service belt (2b), then disconnect the belt from compressor pulley (2c).
- Lower the vehicle.1. Undo the bolt (1a) and disconnect the connector (1b) from the compressor (1c).
Seal the connectors that have been disconnected using suitable plugs to prevent dampness and impurities from entering the system.
2. Disconnect the electrical connection.

3. Undo the compressor fixing bolts.4. Recover the compressor by raising.
- If the compressor is being replaced, proceed as follows.1. Drain the fluid from the compressor through the drainage opening (1a) after having removed the screw plug (1b) and throught the attachment openings for the pipe connectors (1c). If necessary, rotate the compressor several times manually, using the pulley to ensure that all of the fluid comes out.
The fluid is extremely hygroscopic: avoid leaving the containers open. Avoid leaving the compressor or any of the components disconnected from the system for any longer than is strictly necessary.
1. Collect the fluid drained from the compressor in a suitable transparent container (quantity A).2. Drain the fluid from the new compressor (quantity B) and collect it following the instructions given previously.3. Reintroduce a quantity of oil into the new compressor that corresponds to what was removed from the compressor being replaced (C=B-A).4. The fluid should be introduced into the compressor through the pressurizing/drainage opening- Tighten the screw cap to the recommended torque.
