CHECK TO BE PERFORMEDRESOLUTION IF THE CHECK IS NOT OK
Insert the ignition key (panel on).Check that there is a whilstling noise in the next 2 seconds coming from the fuel pump indicating that it is activated and then the pump should be deactivated. The test can be considered overMove on to Step 2
With the diagnostic equipment in active diagnosis carry out the active diagnosis of the fuel pump relay checking that the result is positiveMove on to Step 4Move on to Step 3
If faults are present, repair or, if necessary, replace the electrical wiring between the engine management control unit and the engine compartment junction unit.    See E5030 PETROL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT The test can be considered overReplace the fuel pump relay
Press the START/STOP button (panel off).Connect a pressure gauge to the injectors.Press the START/STOP button (panel on).Check that the fuel pressure rises (whilst the pump is working) between 5.7 and 6.3 bar, then slowly decreases and returns to the previous value.Move on to Step 7Move on to Step 5
Press the START/STOP button (panel off).Remove the fuel pump relay T10 in the engine compartment junction unit.Press the START/STOP button (panel on).Check that the fuel pressure continues not to decreaseReplace the fuel pump relay
If faults are present, repair or, if necessary, replace the electrical wiring between the fuel pump and the engine compartment junction unit.    See E5030 PETROL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT The test can be considered overReplace the engine compartment junction unit    Op. 5505A13 ADDITIONAL JUNCTION UNIT IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT - R.R.
Press the START/STOP button (panel off).Remove fuse F21 in the engine compartment junction unit and check that it has not blown.Move on to Step 12Move on to Step 8
Fit a new F21 fuse. Disconnect the connector at the fuel pump    See N040 FUEL PUMP AND LEVEL GAUGE and check that there are no short circuitsRestore or, if necessary, replace the electrical wiring    See E5030 PETROL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
Check the electrical wiring between the fuel pump and the engine compartment junction unit    See E5030 PETROL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT making sure there are no faults presentRestore or, if necessary, replace the electrical wiring    See E5030 PETROL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
Press the START/STOP button (panel on). Check that the fuel pressure increases and that fuse F21 intervenesThe circuit between the engine compartment junction unit and the fuel pump has been overloaded: check the wiring    See E5030 PETROL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
If faults are present, repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring for the fuel pump.    See E5030 PETROL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT Check, amongst other things, that the connectors do not show signs of corrosion or damage. The test can be considered overReplace the fuel pump assembly    Op. 1040A70 SUBMERGED PUMP ASSEMBLY COMPLETE WITH LEVEL GAUGE CONTROL - R + R
Press the START/STOP button (panel off).Remove the fuel pump relay T10 in the engine compartment junction unit.Press the START/STOP button (panel on).Check the power supply at the base of relay T10 is not faultyRestore or, if necessary, replace the electrical wiring    See E5030 PETROL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
Connect a cable and bridge with a 15 A fuse between the battery positive    See A001 BATTERY and Pin B of the pump    See N040 FUEL PUMP AND LEVEL GAUGE Check that the fuel pressure increases and the pump is activated. Move on to Step 3Move on to Step 11
