STEPCHECK TO BE PERFORMEDRESOLUTION IF THE CHECK IS NOT OK
1Check power supply

  • Turn the key to the ON position.

  • Engage reverse gear

  • Press the parking sensor disablement button on the front courtesy light

  • Connect the voltmeter with the positive probe at pin 1 and the negative earth probe for the button connector and check that there is a positive voltage of 12 V and the button led comes on

  • Check that the connector is correctly inserted in the other part.

  • Try to move it from its seat by making small movements in all directions, grasping the connector body in your fingers and the wiring in your hand. The connector must stay in place

  • Exercise a moderate pulling force. The connector must stay in place

  • check whether the power supply goes off, goes on and/or vice versa (touching/not touching)

  • Pull the lead and check the stability in the groove (should not move back): exercise repeated pull-push-pull cycles on the lead and ensure its immobility.
Examine the crimping:Use a lens to examine the terminal crimping area. The barrels must be turned symmetrically and no strands should emerge from the crimped area. The bare wire section under the barrels must emerge by 0.5.

  • Renew the broken wiring between the NSP and the front courtesy light.

  • Replace the front courtesy light

  • Replace the parking sensor control unit

2Check the earth signal

  • Connect the voltmeter with the negative probe to pin 1 and the positive probe to pin 2, press the button and ensure a negative signal is present

  • Renew the broken wiring between the NSP and the courtesy light.

  • Replace the front courtesy light
