939011636 - E3060 SUN ROOF - DESCRIPTION (Powered sunroof)

DESCRIPTION

The sun-roof provides a means of extra passenger compartment ventilation and ensures swift air exchange when necessary for improved passenger comfort. The system is operated by a knob near the front courtesy light. The roof operating strategy is controlled by a special control unit that receives signals from the control knob and the roof operating motor. When the control knob is turned in the direction shown by the arrow, the roof slides open: a choice of 5 opening positions is available; return the knob to the central position to close the roof. The sun-roof is equipped with a blind underneath that slides manually but is pushed along by the roof when it opens. The blind emerges slightly when the roof is closed to provide access to the manoeuvring handle. When the control handle is turned the opposite way to the direction shown by the arrow, the roof swivels up at the rear: a choice of 3 opening positions is available; return the knob to the central position to close the roof.Press the knob to interrupt all movement (inhibition position). The electronic roof control circuit also includes an antipinch function: whilst the roof is being closed, themovement is interrupted and reversed by about 10 cm if an obstacle is dtected by a Hall effect sensor located on the motor. This function can be excluded for safety reasons by pressing the knob as described above. The sun roof is also automatically opened through the special prolonged (more than 2 seconds) command sent by the TEG remote control button. The sun roof is also automatically closed - if left open - through the special prolonged (more than 2 seconds) command sent by the TEG remote control button. The circuit is controlled by the services relay and protected by a specific fuse, both located in the junction unit under the dashboard: there is a power supply both with the TEG inserted (ON) and not inserted (OFF) during the starting stage this relay is temporarily deactivated whilst with the TEG not inserted (OFF) the Body Computer keeps the relay activated for 3 minutes but deactivates it 30 seconds after one of the doors is opened.
