Removing ( Refitting ) - Drain the brake-clutch fluid using a suitable tool.

The above operation is necessary to fully depress the brake pedal during the removal of the bolts securing the steering control shaft support to the dashboard frame.

Follow all the recommended safety instructions.

Undo the fixing bolt (1a) and disconnect the steering column (1b) from the steering box pinion.

The bolt is the pre-treated type and it therefore cannot be reused when refitting.

Prevent the steering column from turning under all circumstances until the steering column has been refitted to the steering box. Ensure the steering box is located centrally.

1. Unscrew the lower bolt securing the mount with the steering control shafts to the facia. 1. Unscrew the two upper bolts securing the mount with the steering control shafts to the facia. 1. Disconnect the electrical connection from the steering lock node.

1. Remove the support and steering shaft assembly. Refitting ( Removing ) - Refit the support and steering shaft assembly.- Connect the electrical connection to the steering lock node.1. Tighten the two upper bolts securing the mount with the steering control shafts to the facia to the specified torque.

1. Tighten the lower bolt securing the mount with the steering control shafts to the facia to the specified torque.

1. Connect the steering column (1a) to the power steering box pinion and secure it by tightening a new bolt (1b) to the specified torque.

The steering shaft must be positioned in the correct position in relation to the pinion.

If a new mount with steering shafts is fitted, remove the device to prevent the steering column from turning.
