194002029 - N079 PARKING DEVICE NOT WORKING

The following message appears on the control panel: driving aid not available The ultrasound distance detection system for parking provides the driver with information on distance while approaching obstacles behind or in front of the car (only 8 channel version). The information of the presence/distance of an obstacle is transmitted to the driver by means of acoustic warnings whose frequency depends on the distance of the obstacle. The distance measurement only takes place when the system is activated, whilst only the control unit microcontroller is operational in the inactive state.
the system is activated with the key ON and reverse engaged. The Parking Sensor Node receives a reversing signal from the Body Computer Node via the CAN line
1CHECK USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENTALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Connect a diagnostic tester (Examiner) and check the following data in CAN mode:

  • no "control unit inactive" signal
  • that there are no faulty control units
  • no "faulty CAN line" signal
Check for faults in the parking sensor node
Move on to Step 21. Control unit inactive1.Move on to step 2
2. Control unit error2. Continue as instructed by the diagnostic equipment
3. Control units with CAN line error3. Repair any faults in the CAN line
