198001743 - H025 NO ELECTRIC STEERING POWER ASSISTANCE WITH FAILURE WARNING LIGHT ON

There is a noticeable hardening in the steering (in both directions) with no assistance and the failure warning light is on
The electric steering is coaxial and integral with the steering column. The failure warning light should go off with the engine running.

Check:- that the electrical connections and terminals are correctly fitted at the EPS system and Body;- that the battery terminals are correctly tightened;- the continuity of the EPS supply wiring    See E7045 ELECTRIC STEERING - check and clean the bodywork earth terminals- whether the battery is run down (not below 10.5 Volt)Move on to Step 11. Loose connections and/or breaks in continuity at both ends of the wiring detected2. Battery run down1. Intervene at the wiring connections. If the problem persists, move on to step2.
