The customer complains that: The engine cuts out whilst it is running; it can be restarted

		Test results
	Check that there are no errors in the memory by connecting to the engine management control unit using the Examiner.	Move on to Step 2.	Presence of errors.	Continue as instructed by the diagnostic equipment.
2	Engine management control unit power supply check	All OK	Problems encountered	Operation
	- Check for any instability in the connections at the engine management control unit.- Check the connection to earth for the control unit is correct. See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT - Check that the connection between the engine compartment control unit and the engine management control unit is correct.Check that the connection between the engine compartment control unit and the ignition switch is correct. See E5010 STARTING AND RECHARING	Move on to Step 3.	1.Control unit pin contacts loose.2. Engine compartment control unit contacts loose.3. Ignition switch contacts loose.	1. Restore the correct contacts.2. Restore the correct contacts.3. Restore the correct contacts.
3	Electric pump supply check	All OK	Problems encountered	Operation
	Check for any instability in the connections at the electric pump. See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT	Move on to Step 4.	Electric pump assembly connection unstable.	Restore the correct connections.
4	Rpm sensor check	All OK	Problems encountered	Operation
	- Check for any instability in the rpm connection.- Presence of water in the rpm sensor.	Move on to Step 5.	1. Rpm sensor connection unstable.2. Rpm sensor damaged by water penetration.	1. Identify the cause of the penetration and replace the rpm sensor.2. Change the rpm sensor. Op. 1060G20 ENGINE RPM SENSOR - R.R.
5	HIGH PRESSURE PUMP correct operation check	All OK	Problems encountered	Operation
	Replace the high pressure pump Op. 1060E10 DIESEL INJECTION PRESSURE PUMP - R.R. and check it is working correctly.	End of diagnosis.	The fault persists.	Move on to Step 6.
6	ENGINE MANAGEMENT CONTROL UNIT correct operation check	All OK	Problems encountered	Operation
	Replace the engine management control unit Op. 1060G80 DIESEL ELECTRONIC INJECTION CONTROL UNIT - R.R and check that the fault is no longer present	End of diagnosis.	The fault persists.	Contact the Service Department for further information on the problem.
