1Insert the key in the key recognition device and ensure that the surround lights up. Continue to Step 3Proceed as instructed    See Test 5505AF CHECK OF THE EFFICIENCY OF KEY ACKNOWLEDGEMENT DEVICE
2Check and if necessary restore the +15 power supply to Pin 1 of the ignition button    See H002 STARTING PUSH BUTTONMove on to Step 6.Replace the ignition button    Op. 5520G30 START/STOP SWITCH FOR EASY-GO SYSTEM STARTER MOTOR - R.R.
3With the diagnostic instrument in Voltmeter mode, connect the positive probe to ignition Pin 3 of the ignition device and the negative to earth.    See H003 IGNITION DEVICECheck that there is a 12 Volt voltage present.Move on to Step 5
4Check and if necessary restore the continuity of the wiring between Pin B2 of the power steering control unit and Pin 3 of the button    See M089 STEERING LOCK CONTROL UNIT (NBS)    See H002 STARTING PUSH BUTTONThe test can be considered overProceed as instructed    See Test 5580ED ELECTRIC STEERING LOCK CHECK
5Disconnect the button connector.    See H002 STARTING PUSH BUTTONConnect the diagnostic tester in Ohmmeter mode across Pin 2 and Earth, checking that the resistance reading is less than 1 Ohm.Reset the earth connection of the right facia area    See E1020 EARTHS - DESCRIPTION
6With the diagnostic instrument in Voltmeter mode, connect the positive probe to button Pin 4 and the negative to earth    See H002 STARTING PUSH BUTTONPress the ignition button and check the voltage is 12 Volts.Replace the ignition button    Op. 5520G30 START/STOP SWITCH FOR EASY-GO SYSTEM STARTER MOTOR - R.R.
7With the diagnostic instrument in Voltmeter mode, connect the positive probe to device Pin 5 and the negative to earth    See H003 IGNITION DEVICECheck for a voltage of 12 Volts. Continue to Step 9.Move on to Step 8.
8Check and if necessary restore the continuity of the wiring between Pin A8 of the control unit and Pin 5 of the button    See M089 STEERING LOCK CONTROL UNIT (NBS)    See H002 STARTING PUSH BUTTONThe test can be considered overProceed as instructed    See Test 5580ED ELECTRIC STEERING LOCK CHECK
9With the diagnostic instrument in Voltmeter mode, connect the positive probe to button Pin 6 and the negative to earth    See H002 STARTING PUSH BUTTONPress the ignition button and check the voltage is 12 Volts.Replace the ignition button    Op. 5520G30 START/STOP SWITCH FOR EASY-GO SYSTEM STARTER MOTOR - R.R.
10Insert the key into the reader device, with the diagnostic instrument in Voltmeter mode, connect the positive probe to button Pin 7 and the negative to earth    See H002 STARTING PUSH BUTTONCheck for a PWM signal.The test can be considered overMove on to Step 11
11Check and if necessary restore the continuity of the wiring between Pin C2 of the control unit and Pin 7 of the button    See M089 STEERING LOCK CONTROL UNIT (NBS)    See H002 STARTING PUSH BUTTONProceed as instructed    See Test 5580ED ELECTRIC STEERING LOCK CHECK
